Establishing Trust and Connection
Trust is a vital ingredient in every coaching relationship (as it is in our daily lives)! One of the key ICF competencies - Establishing Trust and Intimacy - focuses on behaviours to build the trust on an ongoing basis throughout the coaching sessions. However, trust is important from the very first meeting or telephone call with the client. For some coaches, the challenge may be establishing that positive connection during the first ‘chemistry’ meeting. This is also essential for coaches in getting actual business opportunities. In this mentoring session, we will explore the concept of TRUST in this instance and facilitate a sharing of insights and experiences. We will ask ourselves … how do we define trust and what behaviours/ actions will help us to better connect with clients? Coaching practice will focus on role-plays in establishing this connection with clients.
