"Andrew ran a thought provoking, far reaching training course for beginnner level coaches. His positively framed, thoughtful approach meant that everyone in the room could see and more importantly, experience the skills and techniques that we were exploring. A great start to my personal coaching journey. Thanks Andrew!"
"The Coaching Fundamentals course was one of the most beneficial courses that I have undertaken. It is a course that I highly recommend to others and am very grateful to be given the opportunity to be part of it. Both the theory aspect and practise were engaging and insightful."
"I have enjoyed the opportunity to become a coach. The three-day course was quite intensive but also thought-provoking .I think the emphasis on the professional, personal and wellbeing state of the coachee caught my attention. Unlike some of the more traditional models, I feel that this one strives to get the best out of an individual as well as support a positive work-life balance."
"Before I started this course I had little experience of coaching. I now recognise that coaching techniques can be applied to a much broader range of situations than just professional ones. I have used coaching skills in a professional context with colleagues. Coaching has also influenced my own organisation and thinking. When planning, I often refer to the coaching framework and find that it helps me to manage my work more effectively."
"I found the course highly relevant to many facets of my home and work life and a very reflective process. The course has given me the confidence to coach my department and this has already been a very rewarding experience."
"I was initially skeptical of the coaching process because I didn’t fully understand what was meant by coaching or what it entailed. However, I knew that there was a natural connection to teaching and working with others, which I’ve always enjoyed. I had also heard very good feedback from people on the merits of the course and knew that coaching was something that was becoming very popular. I have learned more about my own personal values and have been able to prioritise matters in my life, as well as appreciate all that I have been undertaking. I would like to be a coach at school and also possibly coach friends or family, who might benefit from the process."
"I found the Coaching Fundamentals course extremely interesting. I have a keen interest in psychology and in people generally. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the skills needed to be a good coach and have found the experience of coaching and being coached enriching."
"Helping others to help themselves truly feels meaningful and great! I came to the realization how much people need others to listen to them without making judgements and how active listening really works in helping others get to the bottom of what’s on their mind, feel better, find next steps and develop intrinsic motivation. Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity to be a coach!"
"I must say that this coaching course was probably the best PD I have taken in my professional career. It has taught me skills that I can apply to students, peers, friends, family and strangers. My ability to listen, respond to and support others has changed dramatically so that daily conversations have become deeper and more meaningful. Coaching skills, for me, are now an essential part of teaching and daily life. I hope to continue building upon them to allow me to support others to succeed and feel empowered."
"The coaching philosophy was something I had a strong desire to learn more about. The three day bootcamp confirmed my feelings that the philosophy was something which aligned with, not only my leadership style, but with the person I strive to be."
"The bootcamp allowed me to begin implementing the learnings straight away in a comfortable and meaningful learning environment. The learnings around listening I strive to implement each day. This has allowed me to be a better class teacher, team leader, colleague, husband and friend."
"Since undertaking the course a lot of improvements have been made in both my professional and personal life. I am delighted that I have the Coaching process in my tool kit and this is something I will continue to dip in and out of when needed or required. I know that this is a process which I can use with a variety of people in varying situations."
" I feel energised in my ability to help colleagues, friends and family in their everyday lives. This coaching course has put me back on track. Coaching will now underpin my approach towards other people and how I build the relationships."
"I found this course useful in both a professional and personal context. it gave me the opportunity to practice each stage of the coaching process, and begin to develop my own style of coaching. As I became more familiar with the process, I gained more confidence in asking questions that would invite the coachee to explore and discover further and on a deeper level."
"The whole three days were very therapeutic. It has been a pleasure to learn this process and I look forward to being able to put it to further use in the future. Thanks for the opportunity and teaching that you provided."
" I am more confident in my abilities to listen to and reflect on what people are saying. This is a great boost. I have started to use coaching at home with my 15 year old daughter. She started to grow an interest and become more in depth with her answers,"
"During the 3-day training I was able to practise with different people. I felt that I got more confident. I found coaching helps me to develop my skills and attitudes for professional dialogue with others to promote self awareness and personal development. I look forward to bringing these benefits to other people," "One of my major learnings on the course is that it actually incorporates a lot of psychology theory into it. The addition of coaching skills to my counselling background provided me with a very practical technique I could use in the work setting to assist colleagues. I have found the whole coaching process to be very useful, not just in a workplace setting but in everyday life with friends and family members." "I’ve learnt a lot from this workshop. Demonstration and the practical activities really help me to get it. I will use the coaching skills widely for performance, behavior, family, my children’s learning and development... to motivate and inspire more and more people. A fantastic workshop." "I wanted to take part to support my colleagues as I feel a supportive environment is key to any successful organisation. I found this process quite powerful."
"I believe I have developed immensely as a coach from this course and even though my coaching journey has only just begun I feel confident in assisting people using this technique. I feel that I am a better listener now and I have also used elements of this technique in interviews when recruiting I am looking forward to more coaching in the future. Thank you very much for an informative and productive learning experience in the coaching course."
I had some experience of coaching training in the UK, Therefore my aims before this course were to brush up on these skills and to further deepen my understanding. During the course I really appreciated the opportunity for lots of practice, in a low-pressure environment. I have had the chance already to practice some of what I learned during recent Line Management meetings with my Department. I feel that the course has not only allowed me to brush up my coaching skills, but to further develop them. Having done this course, I really want to have regular opportunities to develop my skills.
