Creating Deeper Awareness
How deep are my questions?
Are they more practical questions or deep seated?
How far do they take my coachee?
When can I go deeper?
Often, as coaches, we think that we need to learn a whole load of powerful questions that will move the client forward in attaining his goals. This can be useful and important, however it is limited if you use the questions in a way that is disconnected from what is happening in the moment in the coaching conversation. The client may have reached a point where they need to look deeper in themselves so be able to powerfully more forward and not only reach their desired goals but learn more about what lies beneath and is driving or holding them back.
The most powerful questions come from a place of presence and deep listening so we assist clients to create greater awareness of where they are and who they are in the coaching journey. We can either assist our clients to focus on the situation, move forward, clarify options - the WHAT - or take a dive and help clients learn more about themselves, their perceptions, assumptions, behaviors and feelings – the WHO.
Join this interactive group mentoring session where we will take the plunge with the Iceberg Model to understand which questions can help our clients create deeper levels of awareness, what you can do as a coach and when it is time to refer them to someone else such a counselor or psychologist.
